Brief overview of RGBG Analyzer 1.0.018
1. Purpose of RGBG Analyzer:
This Software analyzes the Red, Green, Blue, and Gray color values of user-selected areas of
digital images that have been previously imported and saved into an IBM compatible computer via
numerous methods such as using a scanner, digital camera, or other scientific equipment that
saves digital images. Various image types (gif, tiff, bmp, jpeg, etc) can be uploaded into RGBG
Analyzer.
RGBG Analyzer was written to analyze the color values of images from dot blots, gel
electrophoresis DNA, RNA, and protein bands, Western blot bands, slides, and other images that
require a color analysis of regions of interest in the image. Furthermore, images obtained from a
digital microscope that use differential color staining methods may also be used in this program
to obtain basic color analysis information.
In addition, RGBG Analyzer automatically graphs (bar and line graph) analyzed color values. The
graphing interface can also be used alone to graph other data generated by the user. The
graphing window includes a user-friendly standard deviation calculator and other mathematic
functions.
Another feature of RGBG analyzer is that Images can be edited, converted, and prepared in the
Image Converter/Editor interface of the program. Thus, this program can be used by several
different scientific disciplines for a complete image color analysis and presentation.
